About the Role:

Are you passionate about working with the latest data technologies and building enterprise solutions in the cloud? Liberty International Insurance is establishing a London-based engineering team focused on data and analytics for a Fortune 100 company. As a key team member, you will design and implement data warehousing solutions using Snowflake and AWS, and help evolve our data architecture from Redshift to Snowflake.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the design and implementation of Snowflake and Redshift-based data warehousing solutions within an AWS environment.
  2. Mentor team members through code reviews and pair programming.
  3. Build and support new AWS-native cloud data warehouse solutions.
  4. Develop and optimize ETL processes using AWS services (e.g., AWS Glue, Lambda) for efficient data ingestion, transformation, storage, and cost management.
  5. Deliver data to reporting and analytics layers across the organization.
  6. Collaborate with stakeholders to align requirements with data solutions.
  7. Create and maintain data models supporting reporting and analytics.
  8. Monitor performance metrics and troubleshoot data architecture issues.
  9. Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and quality standards, including regulations like Solvency II and Data Protection.
Skills and Experience:
  1. Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical discipline.
  2. Proven experience as a data engineer with Snowflake and AWS in large-scale enterprise environments.
  3. Extensive knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, Lambda, API Gateway.
  4. Strong SQL skills for complex queries and transformations.
  5. Python programming skills are advantageous.
  6. Experience with performance monitoring, logging, and debugging.
  7. AWS or Snowflake certifications are a plus.
