Job summary

Ripple is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Data Engineering to lead production data pipelines and platform-level data services in London. You will own end-to-end ETL design on the Caspian Data Platform, shaping data models, governance, and operational reliability across Finance, Payments, Product, and GTM.

You’ll collaborate across teams, raise the bar on engineering standards, and mentor engineers while embedding AI tooling and IaC practices to improve delivery velocity and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of hands-on data engineering experience building production pipelines and data models.
• Strong proficiency with Databricks, Delta Live Tables, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, and PySpark.
• Solid SQL skills including transformations, incremental materialization, and data quality validation.
• Experience with AWS and Python for data engineering tasks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitLab) and IaC (Terraform).
• Exposure to AI tooling in data contexts and self-serve analytics.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate production ETL pipelines on Databricks using Delta Live Tables and Spark.
• Own data modeling across layers to create governed, reusable sources of truth.
• Drive technical design for cross-team projects with clear architecture docs.
• Build observable pipelines with failure detection, alerts, and retry logic.
• Integrate AI tooling into data workflows and automation.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to platform infrastructure using Terraform.
