Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data & Digital team in a hybrid role across the UK.

You will design, build and maintain cloud-based data pipelines, collaborating with engineers, analysts and stakeholders to unlock data value and enable informed decisions. You will work with AWS and Azure services, implement data quality checks, and contribute to scalable data solutions across government and regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing ETL/ELT pipelines in cloud environments.
• Proficiency in PySpark, Python or Java.
• Experience with AWS or Azure data services.
• Strong data quality, validation and monitoring skills.
• Experience with CI/CD and Git workflows.
• Eligibility for SC Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS or Azure services.
• Develop data integration components and microservices when required.
• Prepare, transform and validate structured and semi-structured data (Parquet, Avro, JSON).
• Write SQL for data validation on cloud platforms (Athena, Redshift, Synapse).
• Build data processing solutions using PySpark and Python.
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring and logging.
• Tune performance of pipelines and SQL workloads.
• Collaborate with architects, analysts and stakeholders to deliver solutions.
• Contribute to documentation, runbooks and reusable assets.
• Support DevOps practices, CI/CD and automated testing.
