Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. in the United Kingdom invites you to join the Data & Digital team as a Data Engineer.

You will design, build and maintain cloud-native data pipelines, and collaborate with engineers, analysts and client stakeholders to deliver robust data solutions for government, defence and regulated sectors. You’ll work with AWS and Azure services, PySpark, SQL and Java/Python, implement data quality and monitoring, and contribute to runbooks, data dictionaries and scalable

Qualifications

• Experience designing, building and maintaining cloud-native data pipelines.
• Ability to transform and validate structured and semi-structured data.
• Proficiency with SQL in cloud-based analytical platforms.
• Experience with PySpark, Python and Java for data processing.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices (Git, CI/CD).
• Eligibility for SC Clearance is considered.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain reliable ETL/ELT data pipelines using AWS or Azure cloud-native services.
• Develop and support data integration components and services, including Java-based microservices where required.
• Prepare, transform and validate structured and semi-structured data (parquet, avro, JSON).
• Write efficient SQL to query and optimize data across cloud platforms (Athena, Redshift, Synapse).
• Build scalable data processing solutions using PySpark, Python and cloud orchestration.
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring and logging for trusted data delivery.
• Collaborate with data architects and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
