Job summary

Jacobs is expanding its Data & Digital team in the UK to design, build and maintain modern data platforms across government, defence and regulated industries. You will work with AWS and Azure services, PySpark, SQL, Python and Java to deliver reliable data pipelines and analytics capabilities.

You will collaborate with engineers, architects and client stakeholders, participating in DevOps and agile delivery while contributing to documentation and runbooks and supporting data quality and

Qualifications

• Experience designing and building modern data platforms in cloud environments.
• Strong SQL skills and data transformation experience.
• Familiarity with AWS/Azure data services (Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, Data Factory, Synapse).

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines on AWS or Azure.
• Develop and support data integration components and Java microservices where required.
• Transform and validate structured and semi-structured data (parquet, avro, JSON).
• Write SQL to query and optimise data on cloud-based analytics platforms (Athena, Redshift, Azure Synapse).
• Build scalable data processing with PySpark, Python, and cloud orchestration services.
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring and logging for trusted data delivery.
• Support performance tuning of data pipelines and SQL workloads.
• Collaborate with data architects, analysts and stakeholders to deliver solutions.
• Contribute to documentation, runbooks and reusable engineering assets.
• Support DevOps practices with source control, CI/CD and automated testing.
