Job summary

Menzies LLP is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to design and deliver scalable data pipelines into BigQuery, integrating data from a wide range of sources. You will shape the engineering approach on Google Cloud Platform, champion data governance, and provide technical leadership to the Innovation Team.

The role involves building production-grade data pipelines, mentoring engineers, and delivering data-enabled insights via Power BI and internal applications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on data engineering or analytics experience.
• Advanced SQL and Python for production data solutions.
• Strong BigQuery experience and knowledge of GCP ecosystem.
• Experience with Airflow/Cloud Composer, dbt, Git/GitHub and CI/CD.
• Understanding of data modelling, governance, testing, monitoring and cost optimization.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of scalable data pipelines feeding BigQuery across internal systems and sources.
• Shape engineering approach across GCP and related tooling, leveraging Terraform for infra-as-code.
• Set high engineering standards, including data quality, testing, monitoring, documentation and cost controls.
• Collaborate with teams to turn business needs into scalable data products, integrating diverse data sources.
• Embed data governance and GDPR compliance by design and mentor engineers.
