Job summary

Solvex Solutions is seeking a data engineering professional to design and support scalable data models and distributed ETL pipelines. You will collaborate with stakeholders across multiple business areas to translate data challenges into robust solutions, deploying DataOps practices and guiding teams with modern cloud-based tools.

You will work with BigQuery, Python, SQL, and DBT to deliver high-quality data capabilities, while ensuring governance and architectural alignment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and building complex data models and distributed data pipelines for analytics at scale.
• Advanced SQL skills for high-performance data transformation across large datasets.
• Experience with CI/CD workflows, TDD, and agile collaboration.
• Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Experience delivering large-scale data warehousing (dimensional modelling, ETL) in GCP, with DBT knowledge.
• Familiarity with data governance, analytics environments, and AI/ML concepts in data workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and support data models and distributed ETL pipelines on large datasets.
• Collaborate with multiple business areas to define requirements and recommendations.
• Embed DataOps practices and act as data engineering expert across workstreams.
• Utilize BigQuery, Python, SQL, and DBT; explore AI-driven optimisations.
• Coach team members, share knowledge, and deputise for Engineering Manager when needed.
• Align with platform governance, architecture standards, and data flows onboarding.
