Job summary

SF Partners in Lancashire is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to advance our Microsoft Fabric platform. You will design and optimise data pipelines, build reusable models and collaborate with BI, analytics and software teams to unlock insights and automate reporting.

This hybrid role offers a £70,000-£80,000 salary, a 36.25-hour week, flexible hours and healthcare benefits, with one office day per week in Lancashire.

Qualifications

• Microsoft Fabric experience is essential for building pipelines and working with data storage and transformation.
• Strong SQL, Python and data modelling skills are required, with knowledge of lakehouse/warehouse approaches.
• Experience preparing data for Power BI and delivering reliable data pipelines is expected.

Senior Data Engineer - Microsoft Fabric

£70,000-£80,000 | Lancashire | One day per week in the office

You've built with Microsoft Fabric. Now you want the room to make decisions, solve problems and take ownership of how a platform develops.

This role gives you that scope. Fabric is already in place, with foundations to build on and plenty to improve. You'll help move the business towards a more consistent, scalable approach to data engineering, creating pipelines and models that support reporting, analytics and day-to-day operations.

Working alongside BI, analytics and software development colleagues, you'll combine hands-on engineering with helping others get more from the platform.

What you'll get stuck into

• Building and improving Fabric pipelines and notebooks.

• Using SQL and Python to automate processing and reduce manual work.

What you'll need

• Practical Microsoft Fabric experience is essential, including building pipelines and working with data storage and transformation.
• You'll also bring strong SQL, Python and data modelling skills, an understanding of lakehouse and warehouse approaches, and experience preparing data for Power BI.
• You should be comfortable taking ownership, explaining your decisions and sharing your knowledge with colleagues. Previous sector experience isn't essential.
