Job summary

Nexus Careers Group Ltd is recruiting a Data Centre Manager for a high-profile site in Slough. In this senior operational role you will oversee day-to-day data centre operations, lead engineering and support teams, ensure safe and reliable electrical/mechanical systems, and drive performance against KPIs.

The successful candidate will bring a strong technical background, experience managing budgets and financial performance, and proven leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

• Strong technical background in electrical, mechanical or building services engineering.
• Experience managing data centre or critical environments.
• Experience managing budgets, costs and financial performance.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for day-to-day operation of the data centre.
• Lead and develop the site engineering, supervisory and support teams.
• Ensure critical mechanical and electrical systems remain safe, reliable and available.
• Oversee planned, reactive and statutory maintenance activities.
• Manage technical incidents, escalations and root-cause investigations.
• Ensure compliance with permits, RAMS, safe systems of work and site procedures.
• Manage specialist contractors and service providers.
• Maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Monitor site performance against KPIs and service levels.
• Produce operational reports and present performance updates.
• Manage site budgets, expenditure, purchase orders and financial forecasts.
• Review costs, quotations, variations and opportunities for commercial improvement.
• Support lifecycle planning, asset replacement and project delivery.
• Identify operational efficiencies and improvements to site resilience.
• Ensure the site remains compliant with health, safety and statutory requirements.
