Job summary

Ethos in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Project Mechanical Design Engineer with 10+ years of experience to lead the mechanical building services for data centre developments across the EMEA region.

You will manage multiple projects from concept to client handover, build strong client relationships, mentor junior engineers, and ensure delivery meets programme, budget and quality standards while upholding our QA processes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years mechanical design experience.
• Hold a professional qualification in engineering.
• Lead projects and manage briefs from the project lead to deliver leading data centre developments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development and workload of team members to optimise productivity.
• Guide decision-making and problem-solving across discipline areas.
• Develop strong client relationships to deliver tailored solutions meeting expectations.
• Understand and manage contract terms to control scope creep and maintain project integrity.
• Delegate tasks strategically to maximise value and engage the team.
• Report progress to Group Management Team to ensure transparency and alignment.
• Ensure QA standards are followed and deadlines are met.
• Mentor and support engineers to progress into senior roles.
