Job summary

Amazon Data Services Uk Limited - E17 is seeking a Senior Pre-Construction Manager to lead global pre-construction standards and coordinate between Real Estate, Design Engineering and Construction teams from site selection to handover.

You will drive high-quality documentation, manage cross-functional data center projects, negotiate with contractors, review bids, and push schedule, cost and constructibility decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in negotiating with general contractors and evaluating bids/proposals with detail and accuracy.
• 7+ years of experience in mission critical facilities (design, pre-construction, scheduling, construction and commissioning), or equivalent.
• 5+ years in construction site management.
• Fluency in French and English with respect to complex technical instructions and concepts.
• Excellent communication skills for front line and executive level managers.

Responsibilities

• Review and provide input into global standards and data center template designs.
• Independently support, overview and manage complex, cross-functional Data Center projects from site selection, permitting and contract execution.
• Drive timely decisions, identify blockers, and escalate as needed.
• Collaborate with real estate, design engineering, construction, finance, architects, engineers, permitting agencies, developers and landlords to secure resources and drive results.
• Negotiate with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals and negotiate costs with developers and design consultants.
• Evaluate Due Diligences, schedule tracking, and mitigate factors that impede project handovers to stakeholders.
• Lead negotiations with general contractors and internal procurement partners and report construction/commercial metrics.
