Job summary

Amazon Data Services UK Limited - E17 is seeking a Senior Pre-Construction Manager to lead cross-functional data center projects from site selection through contract execution. You will set design standards, guide constructibility, and collaborate with Real Estate, Design Engineering, Construction, and finance teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

You will drive complex negotiations with contractors and consultants, manage schedules, and ensure safety and quality standards across programs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Fluent French and English for complex technical instructions.
• 7+ years negotiating with general contractors and evaluating bids.
• 7+ years in mission critical facilities (design, pre-construction, scheduling, construction, commissioning).
• 5+ years in construction site management.
• Knowledge of best practice industry safety standards and local safety regulations; experience as a client within those regulations.

Responsibilities

• Review and input into global standards and data center template designs.
• Independently support, overview and manage complex cross-functional Data Center projects from site selection, permitting and contract execution; keep stakeholders informed.
• Drive scope progress by making crisp, timely decisions and clearing blockers.
• Collaborate with internal/external teams including real estate, design engineering, construction, finance, architects, engineers, permitting agencies, developers and landlords to secure resources, set priorities, milestones and drive results.
• Negotiate with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals; participate in pricing reviews for scope inclusions/exclusions; negotiate costs with developers and design consultants.
• Evaluate due diligences, schedule tracking, and resolve factors impeding project hand-over to stakeholders.
• Insist on high standards, drive accountability, and coach or take disciplinary actions as needed.
