Senior Data Architect — Medallion Data Platform Lead

Job summary

Harnham is seeking a highly experienced Data Architect to shape and scale a modern enterprise data platform in a regulated environment. You will design end-to-end data models, drive Medallion Architecture across Bronze, Silver and Gold layers, and define semantic models for analytics, BI and AI use cases.

You will collaborate with engineering, security and business stakeholders to deliver robust data solutions, govern metadata, and mentor the wider data team.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Data Architect or Enterprise Data Architect.
• Expert in conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling.
• Proven track record implementing Medallion Architecture across Bronze, Silver and Gold layers.
• Experience with modern cloud data platforms and analytics.
• Experience in regulated environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain enterprise-wide conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Lead the development and optimisation of a modern Medallion Architecture with Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers.
• Define semantic data models to support analytics, reporting, and AI use cases.
• Partner with data engineering teams to shape end-to-end data pipelines and data products.
• Lead architecture assurance across business-critical projects and technology initiatives.
• Design data integration patterns across multiple platforms, applications, APIs, and databases.
• Translate business requirements into scalable data architecture solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
• Drive best practice across data modelling, metadata management, master data management, and enterprise architecture design.
• Assess the impact of new technologies, platform enhancements, and strategic change programmes.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, architecture, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and architectural guidance across the wider data function.
