Job Description:
Zearch is partnering with a leading GIS/Geo-spatial SaaS business to hire an experienced Data Architect for top priority projects in the Telco & Utilities sectors.
- Collaborate with clients to evaluate the quality and business value of datasets, performing detailed assessments and audits of critical data elements.
- Assist in defining data governance processes to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and integrity across systems.
- Review client systems to understand the structure and flow of customer interaction and lifecycle data.
GIS Data Modeling & Transformation
- Design GIS data models aligned with business objectives, transforming existing data using tools like Python, Perl, Safe FME, and proprietary utilities.
- Standardize datasets for scalable, automated transformation workflows.
- Establish automated data ingestion processes for collection and processing, triggering transformations as needed.
Documentation & Compliance
- Create and maintain documentation of data architectures, models, and transfer processes.
- Ensure compliance with privacy and security standards such as PII, PCI, PI, FERC, and CPNI, according to project guidelines.
Deployment & Operational Support
- Contribute to deployment teams to implement new data models for client applications.
- Work with stakeholders to prioritize data sources based on assessments and business goals.
- Document data collection and transfer methods to meet standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate new data sources into ongoing projects.
ETL Development
- Develop automated ETL pipelines using industry-standard tools, ensuring scalability and fault tolerance.
- Apply strong data architecture and modeling skills to extract insights from raw data.
- Manipulate both structured and unstructured data effectively.
- Design relational databases and data models.
- Experience with GIS/CAD tools like Smallworld, ESRI, 3GIS, Bentley, Hexagon, Crescent Link, CadTel, etc., is preferred.
- Develop reporting and analytics structures based on business requirements.
- Experience with SAFE FME and other ETL solutions is highly desirable.
- Understand data privacy regulations and best practices.
- Experience with analytics and reporting tools is a plus.
