Job summary

Addition Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Data Architect to modernise data foundations, improve accessibility and prepare a platform for AI-driven innovation. You will work directly with the CTO, owning both strategy and delivery.

The role is remote for UK-based candidates, initially a 3-month contract with potential extension, starting 26 October 2026, and involves designing API-first architectures, evaluating AI-ready tech, and delivering a pragmatic, incremental roadmap.

Qualifications

• Senior Data Architect with experience across complex data environments.
• Hands-on experience with AI-ready data architectures, including vector databases.
• Strong understanding of API-first data solutions for multiple consumers.
• Experience modernising legacy data platforms and data governance.

Responsibilities

• Review the existing data landscape, identifying architectural gaps, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
• Design a modern, scalable data architecture that brings together legacy systems and enables more effective data consumption.
• Develop an API-first approach, ensuring data can be securely and efficiently accessed across multiple applications and users.
• Assess the organisation's readiness for AI and explore technologies such as vector databases and retrieval-based solutions.
• Create a clear technical roadmap, translating architectural recommendations into practical delivery milestones.
• Work closely with the CTO to influence technical strategy and make key architectural decisions.
• Engage directly with customers to understand their requirements and communicate solutions clearly.
• Introduce new approaches, processes and AI-enabled capabilities to support ongoing innovation.
