Job summary

Methods Analytics is seeking a Data Architect to join the team on a permanent basis. The role is primarily remote with travel to client sites and offices in London, Sheffield, and Bristol.

You will design end-to-end data solutions, govern data standards, and mentor junior team members. You will work with data engineers, software engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable data architectures and modern data services, supporting AI-enabled analytics and data-driven

Qualifications

• Proven deep knowledge of the Azure data stack and cloud data services.
• Strong modelling experience with relational and star/snowflake schemas.
• Excellent SQL and database design skills across SQL Server, PostgreSQL and cloud databases.
• Experience migrating data from legacy systems to modern cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with Parquet/Delta Lake and data storage formats.
• Experience with streaming data architectures (Kafka/Event Hubs/Kinesis).
• Knowledge of data architectures for AI/ML workloads including vector stores and MLOps pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Advocate data standards and govern them across projects and the organisation.
• Provide an end-to-end view of data issues, roadmaps, and architecture vision statements.
• Explain decisions clearly and resolve technical disputes across levels of complexity and risk.
• Communicate complex data concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Design data exposure via APIs and real-time streams across multiple systems.
• Lead data migration projects from legacy to cloud-native platforms.
