Job summary

HSBC is seeking a Senior Data Business Analyst in London to join the Asset Management Data Analytics Office. The role focuses on shaping requirements, improving data quality, and delivering data products across Investment Data Service, Security Master, Funds Data and Entity Master, with collaboration across business analysts, IT and vendors.

You will work in a hybrid setup, partnering with global teams to define data artefacts, data quality controls and data governance in Google Cloud Platform

Qualifications

• Senior Business Analyst with investment data management experience.
• Strong SQL skills to validate datasets and transformations.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform data environments (e.g., BigQuery).
• Knowledge of Asset Management data concepts and related datasets.

Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyse and document business and functional requirements for data services across epics and user stories.
• Use SQL to interrogate, validate and reconcile datasets and support root-cause analysis.
• Support delivery activities including backlog refinement, UAT planning, and stakeholder sign-off.
• Define core data artefacts: business rules, data definitions, lineage notes, source-to-target mappings.
• Collaborate with engineers and platform teams to deliver and assure datasets on GCP.
