Job summary

AutoTrader UK is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to drive analytics across consumer journeys, collaborating with engineers, designers and product leads.

You will define metrics, design data products, and lead experimentation to measure user behaviour and product impact, ensuring governance and scalable analytics practices.

You will mentor analysts and partner with stakeholders to translate insights into product decisions within a flexible hybrid working model.

Qualifications

• Experience in consumer-facing product teams and analytics approaches across the product lifecycle.
• Experience overseeing experimentation programmes that inform product or business decisions.
• Good understanding of statistical inference methods (Bayesian, Frequentist) and familiarity with predictive analytics techniques.
• Working knowledge of analytics tools for tracking and analyzing user behaviour (Google Analytics or similar).
• Ability to articulate complex analytical solutions to stakeholders and influence decisions.
• Experience planning and delivering analytical projects in a cross-functional environment.
• Mentoring and leading other analysts towards collective goals.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python, with knowledge of ETL processes and foundational data engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Establish metrics for product areas using appropriate frameworks and governance.
• Lead the design of data products and collaborate with engineers on implementation.
• Define and continuously improve tracking for reliable measurement of user behaviour and product performance.
• Own outputs of experimentation programmes and partner with Design and User Research during ideation.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to inform decisions with data-driven recommendations.
• Be accountable for team success and champion analytics within the organisation.
• Plan and prioritise analytical components of projects and communicate with Analytics leadership.
