Job summary

DVSA is seeking a Lead Cyber Security Risk Manager to coordinate risk identification, assessment and mitigation across the agency's digital ecosystem. The role demands expertise in risk management, security standards and cross‑department collaboration to safeguard critical data and operations.

The successful candidate will lead risk-based decision making, oversee incident response and ensure governance alignment with NCSC, CAF/NIST, and HMG policies while guiding a team and engaging stakeholders

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and risk appetite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience leading diverse teams and delivering complex security programs.
• Proven ability to collaborate with external organisations and internal departments.

Responsibilities

• Identify, understand and mitigate cyber risks across the agency's digital infrastructure.
• Provide risk-based guidance to risk owners; align with Security Policy Framework, NCSC standards and CAF/NIST where applicable.
• Lead analysis, risk assessments and threat assessments to support governance and assurance.
