Job summary

Our client is a well-established professional services organisation with a strong national presence in the UK. The SOC team is seeking an experienced L3 SOC Analyst or Security Engineer to investigate security incidents and perform in-depth threat analysis.

You will work with external providers to ensure effective monitoring, alert management, and incident handling, while hands-on remediation helps strengthen security controls and reduce risk. Hybrid UK offices available.

Qualifications

• Experience as L3 SOC Analyst or Security Engineer.
• Experience in security operations, incident response, and threat detection.
• Exposure to detection engineering and securing cloud-based environments.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and respond to security incidents escalated via Security Operations.
• Perform detailed security event analysis and identify threats needing investigation.
• Collaborate with external security service providers for monitoring and incident handling.
• Remediate hands-on and provide recommendations to strengthen controls.
• Conduct security reviews of systems, infrastructure, and processes.
• Drive continuous security improvements and implement operational controls.

• Investigate and respond to security incidents escalated through the Security Operations function.
• Perform detailed security event analysis and identifying potential threats or areas requiring further investigation.
• Work closely with external security service providers to ensure effective monitoring, alert management, and incident handling.
• Perform hands-on remediation and provide recommendations to improve security controls and reduce risk.
• Conduct security reviews of systems, infrastructure, and operational processes.
• Drive continuous security improvements.
• Contributing to the development and implementation of operational security controls and procedures.

The Successful Applicant

• Previous experience working as L3 SOC Analyst or Security Engineer
• Demonstrated experience in security operations, incident response, threat detection
• Strong understanding of cyber attack techniques, threat actor methodologies, and appropriate mitigation strategies
• Experience in end to end cyber security investigation and hands-on remediation
• Exposure of detection engineering
• Experience securing cloud-based and enterprise collaboration environments
• Familiarity with attack frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK
