Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a skilled L3 SOC Analyst/Security Engineer to investigate and respond to security incidents escalated by the SOC. You will perform in‑depth event analysis, detect threats, and work with external MSSPs to ensure effective monitoring and remediation.

You will help implement and refine operational security controls, conduct system reviews, and drive continuous security improvements across cloud and on‑prem environments in a hybrid UK setting.

Qualifications

• Experience as an L3 SOC Analyst or Security Engineer.
• Strong background in security operations, incident response and threat detection.
• Hands-on cyber security investigation and remediation experience.
• Exposure to detection engineering and cloud/enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK framework.

Job description

This position focuses on cyber incident investigation, remediation, and operational security improvement. Be the escalation point of the external MSSP. This is a 1 year FTC role with high potential to extend.

• Investigate and respond to security incidents escalated through the Security Operations function.
• Perform detailed security event analysis and identify potential threats or areas requiring further investigation.
• Work closely with external security service providers to ensure effective monitoring, alert management, and incident handling.
• Perform hands-on remediation and provide recommendations to improve security controls and reduce risk.
• Conduct security reviews of systems, infrastructure, and operational processes.
• Drive continuous security improvements.
• Contributing to the development and implementation of operational security controls and procedures.

Profile

• Previous experience working as L3 SOC Analyst or Security Engineer
• Demonstrated experience in security operations, incident response, threat detection
• Strong understanding of cyber attack techniques, threat actor methodologies, and appropriate mitigation strategies
• Experience in end to end cyber security investigation and hands-on remediation
• Exposure of detection engineering
• Experience securing cloud-based and enterprise collaboration environments
• Familiarity with attack frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK
