This role

Role is responsible for providing top quality customs services, prepare and verify customs documentation at client site in Basildon.

This position reports to the local team leader.

Trips to Basildon/Dunton (Essex) required twice a week.

We are looking for a candidate who has 3+ years experience in the customs field and wants to work and develop in that area. A person who is dynamic, a fast learner, who is able to identify a problem and work on solution proposal. Obviously team working orientated but also able to work on his/her own.

Your role: Key duties and responsibilities (include but not limited to)

• Processing customs data in the customs/port/inventory system, manage exceptions or non-standard cases
• Analyzing and preparing customs information in accordance with international trade rules
• Providing outstanding customer service to external clients and partners
• Working with numerous internal departments to deliver full range of customer services
• Providing support, assistance and direction to other Trade Analysts
• Preparing reports and metrics for both internal and external purposes
• Manage special customs procedures, as required e.g. temporary imports, returned goods, samples
• Provide support for customs audits
• Adherence to the Quality Operating System by ensuring that customs procedures managed by Livingston team are documented and followed
• Other duties as assigned by Team Leader

Your experience, knowledge and skills

• 3 years+ of experience in Customs Operations in the UK
• Experience working with Community System Provider (CSP) e.g. Destin8/ CNS Compass/ CCS - UK
• Knowledge of Imports and Exports, Customs Warehouse, Customs Procedures e.g. OPR/IPR, TA
• Experience of working in an operations environment or supply chain
• Computer literate and advanced knowledge of MS-Office especially excel, and Power BI
• Working in an international environment
• Ability to analyze and interpret numerous data
• Team player spirit
• Enthusiastic and taking initiative
• A driving license is required
• We require the fulfillment of legal conditions to work on the territory of UK

Customs certification from BIFA (British International Freight Association) or The Chartered Institute of Export & International Trade or similar institution – BTEC level 2 or equivalent.

We offer

• Full-time basis employment contract, 6-month probationary period. After that period if you meet our requirements, you will be offered an employment agreement for an indefinite period. Within our company structure, this role is called Senior Trade Analyst and this is the job title you will receive in your contract.
