Urenco Capenhurst is seeking a Principal Civil, Structural & Architectural (CS&A) Engineer to lead a skilled team across major capital programmes at Capenhurst/Birchwood. You will provide technical leadership, oversee FEED packages, and ensure designs meet Urenco standards and customer requirements.

The role emphasizes guiding design development, acting as an intelligent customer for suppliers, and maintaining design intent through the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
• Postgraduate qualifications or training in a relevant discipline are desirable.
• Experience leading engineering teams on major plant or infrastructure projects.
• FEED, design development and project delivery in regulated environments.
• recognised expertise in Civil, Structural & Architectural Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Civil, Structural & Architectural engineers.
• Develop and deliver FEED packages, including Conceptual and Basic Design activities.
• Ensure designs are aligned with Urenco standards, customer requirements, and engineering best practice.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight throughout the design development process.
• Review and oversee detailed design activities, including supplier and contractor outputs.
• Support the review and approval of design deviations, concessions, and FAT/SAT activities.
• Ensure design intent is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support the development, training, and mentoring of engineers within the CS&A discipline.
• Contribute to the development of engineering processes, procedures, and standards.
• Support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the wider engineering community.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and learning-from-experience approach.
• Ensure designs are technically robust, compliant, and fit for purpose.
