Job summary

First Recruitment Group is seeking a Senior CS&A Engineer to lead civil, structural and architectural engineering efforts in a highly regulated environment in Warrington. This role offers staff or contract options and requires eligibility for UK security clearance.

You will deliver CS&A design elements, perform calculations, create drawings and method statements, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliant project delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified CS&A Engineer or equivalent.
• Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer preferred, or as a minimum Incorporated Engineer.
• Minimum of three years' experience working within a highly regulated industry.
• Experience on nuclear build projects and interfaces with existing structures is preferred.
• Experience in concrete, steel and masonry design.
• Knowledge of CDM and design responsibilities.
• Able to work independently within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong communication and audience-tailoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of CS&A design deliverables including designs, assessments, drawings and reports.
• Check and approve engineering outputs to ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
• Produce civil and structural calculations, design assessments and substantiations.
• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, scopes of work and method statements.
• Work closely with integrated design teams, systems engineering teams and other project stakeholders.
• Undertake site visits as required to support project delivery.
• Seek input from engineers, specialists, facility teams and project team members to ensure fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Present technical information clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences.
• Deliver work independently and autonomously during engineering package execution.

Take the lead in delivering complex Civil, Structural & Architectural engineering solutions within a highly regulated environment

Our Client has a requirement for a Senior CS&A Engineer, who will be required to work on a staff or contract basis in Warrington.

Role Purpose:

• Support the delivery of Civil, Structural & Architectural (CS&A) project elements in collaboration with stakeholders and engineering disciplines.
• Deliver high-quality engineering designs, assessments and technical solutions throughout project phases.
• Interface with integrated design teams, facility teams and other project functions to ensure successful project delivery.
• Contribute to the safe, efficient and compliant execution of engineering packages within a highly regulated environment.

Job Role Responsibilities:

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

• Degree qualified CS&A Engineer or equivalent through enhanced experience.
• Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer preferred, or as a minimum Incorporated Engineer.
• Minimum of three years' experience working within a highly regulated industry.
• General all-round civil and structural design experience.
• Experience working on new nuclear build projects and interfaces with existing structures is preferred.
• Experience in the design of concrete, steel and masonry structures.
• Experience designing structures subject to normal and abnormal environmental loading conditions.
• Seismic assessment experience is desirable.
• Familiarity with a range of design technologies and engineering techniques.
• Proficient in steel and concrete design to current industry codes and standards.
• Knowledge of CDM and design responsibilities.
• Capable of working independently while contributing effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor information to different audiences.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within integrated project environments.
• Experience delivering engineering work within the nuclear industry is desirable.
• Working towards Chartered Engineer status is desirable.
• Experience within the broader nuclear sector is desirable.
• Interest or experience in sustainability initiatives is desirable.

Additional Information:

• Due to the nature of the work, applicants will need to meet residency requirements for UK Security Clearance.
• Security Clearance is required for this position and candidates must be sole British nationals.
