Job summary

The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is seeking a Credit Controller within its Finance Division to ensure timely income collection and adherence to debt policies. The role operates under the DHFICC and focuses on negotiations and risk mitigation.

Ideal candidates will have CICM Level 2 or be working towards it, a minimum of three years in credit control, and strong IT skills with Excel and accounting systems.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of income/debt collection cycles and relevant legislation.
• CICM qualification or working towards CICM Level 2.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant income/credit control experience.
• Excellent IT skills including Excel, Office and an Accounting or Credit Control system.
• Experience of analysing and interpreting data, producing complex reports and delivering briefings.

Responsibilities

• Implement and adhere to income and debt collection policies and procedures under the DHFICC.
• Negotiate settlements in line with guidance without compromising the School's position.
• Maximise collection and mitigate the risk of non-payments.
• Meet objectives, strategic targets, and KPI targets.
• Coordinate bad debt proposals and write-offs.
• Resolve queries for students, customers and stakeholders efficiently.
• Advise on related legal, compliance and procedural issues.
• Act as point of contact for external collection agent referrals.
