Job description

These positions mainly focus on Commercial Real Estate & Commodity Finance business and may also cover other sectors' credit activities based on proposals from the front office.

Principal Purpose of the Job:

  1. Minimize the Bank's credit-related losses by identifying and reasonably measuring credit risks and mitigants in proposals and reviews.
  2. Make clear and unambiguous recommendations to the Credit Committee, in accordance with the Bank's credit policies, regarding the acceptability of specific business deals from a credit perspective while maintaining an independent and objective view within the credit process.
  3. Effectively monitor, identify, and reasonably measure credit risk within the Bank's asset portfolio.

Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Complete credit evaluation reports providing an overview of transactions, financial and non-financial risk analysis, key risks with mitigation strategies, and credit recommendations, including suggested credit enhancements and management conditions. Assist in implementing credit risk appetite, policies, procedures, and management processes once established. Ensure credit transactions comply with credit policies.
  • Provide effective challenges and guidance to proposals from the Front Office; draft and present credit opinions to the Credit Committee, maintaining an objective and independent stance in line with the Bank's policies. Achieve timely turnaround of credit proposals and reviews, aligned with departmental objectives.
  • Provide the Head of CRD, DGM (credit), and credit committee with professional risk analysis and appropriate mitigation measures promptly.
  • Conduct post-lending management, including monitoring credit ceilings and exposures, ensuring loans perform well with covenants maintained, regularly reviewing the financial performance of borrowers considering market and industry dynamics, and ensuring all conditions are met throughout the loan lifecycle.
  • Perform credit reviews and research industry and customer-related information for new proposals and, at least annually, for existing customers.
  • Proactively monitor industry and sector trends, as well as counterparty risks, for early warning signals.
  • Perform other functions and tasks as required to assist the Head/Deputy Head of Credit Risk.

Skills Required:

  1. Possess a minimum of 8-10 years' experience in credit review within Commercial Real Estate & Commodity Finance.
  2. In-depth knowledge of risks and mitigations across various industries, countries, and client types, along with strong financial analysis, projection, and stress testing skills.
  3. Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with a positive attitude and proactive approach.
  4. Collaborative personality with the ability to work independently.
