Job summary

The London Borough of Barnet is seeking an experienced CPO Lead to support the Brent Cross Cricklewood Regeneration Programme. You will provide strategic oversight, assurance and coordination across land and property workstreams, focusing on CPO matters, compensation claims and legal processes.

In this role you will lead external consultants and collaborate with legal advisors and internal stakeholders to ensure delivery of the regeneration objective.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading or managing CPO projects.
• Strong understanding of CPO legislation, compensation claims and associated legal processes.
• Experience supporting major regeneration, infrastructure or development programmes.
• Background in land acquisition, property management, estates, regeneration or strategic property functions.
• Experience managing external consultants, surveyors, legal advisers and valuation specialists.
• Experience producing reports and presenting to senior stakeholders and governance boards.
• Understanding of land transactions, leases, disposals and development agreements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all CPO-related workstreams across the regeneration programme.
• Manage outstanding compensation claims and support potential Upper Tribunal proceedings.
• Provide assurance and oversight on land and property matters associated with programme delivery.
• Commission, manage and coordinate external property, legal and valuation consultants.
• Support a range of property transactions, including: Land disposals, Infrastructure leases, Licences and land agreements, Other property and regeneration-related transactions.
• Act as the client lead for specialist commercial and property advice.
• Monitor programme risks and develop mitigation strategies relating to land and property matters.
• Prepare reports and provide updates for senior management, governance boards and programme stakeholders.
• Ensure effective governance and compliance across all land and property workstreams.
• Work collaboratively with regeneration, legal, property and project teams to support programme objectives.
