Job summary

Thomson Reuters is hiring a Senior Counsel for a fixed-term contract in London to advise on and negotiate complex SaaS, software, data and technology agreements supporting global product sales. You will be a hands-on commercial lawyer with deep experience on the supplier side, driving practical, problem-solving guidance for Sales, Product Management and other business teams.

You will review and negotiate diverse agreements, manage privacy/regulatory concerns, and work within the General Counsel

Qualifications

• 7+ years post-qualification experience in private practice or as in-house counsel advising on sell-side technology transactions.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Additional language experience (German, French or Spanish) is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of contract and commercial law for SaaS products and information licensing.
• Ability to negotiate, draft, and provide commercially sound legal advice.

Responsibilities

• Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of customer-facing and partner agreements, mainly software/SaaS and information licensing.
• Identify legal, regulatory and compliance risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with General Counsel and business teams on enterprise-wide issues and projects.
• Respond to internal legal inquiries related to corporate, IP, and data privacy matters.
