Job Description

We are seeking Senior Cost Managers to join our London-based Central and Local Government Cost Management Team supporting projects across central government. Candidates must have DV Security Clearance or be willing to obtain it.

The role will include working on a Ministry of Defence project with a requirement to work client-side from a Central London location three days per week.

Our team handles a diverse range of projects for notable public sector organizations, including refurbishment of listed buildings, office fit-outs, and critical infrastructure.

This offer is contingent upon your successful completion of a security clearance process. Employment is conditional upon obtaining and maintaining the required security clearance, including BPSS and DV.

The clearance process involves background checks, interviews, and assessments as deemed necessary by authorities. Failure to obtain clearance may result in withdrawal of the offer or termination of employment.

Typical duties for the Senior Cost Manager include:

• Leading commercial delivery of various projects
• Building professional relationships with clients and colleagues
• Managing costs in line with project objectives
• Monitoring and reporting project costs accurately
• Managing cost variance and contract cash flow
• Collaborating with client and contractor teams
• Managing contract changes effectively
• Improving forecast and budget accuracy
• Providing commercial support to stakeholders
• Negotiating and finalizing accounts
• Mentoring junior staff

Requirements:

• Excellent stakeholder communication skills
• 5+ years of diverse project experience
• Knowledge of NEC contracts and/or JCT
• Expertise in cost and change management
• Skills in valuation, risk management, procurement, and cost planning
• Proficiency in reporting
• Collaborative attitude focused on the project’s success
• People and contract management skills
• Ability to drive project efficiencies
• Strong understanding of construction industry technical matters

Qualifications:

• Must have DV Security Clearance or willingness to obtain it
• Proven track record in delivering high-quality cost management/quantity surveying services
• Degree or HNC level qualification
• Professional qualification (e.g., MRICS) preferred
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
