Job Description

We are seeking Senior Cost Managers to join our London-based Central and Local Government Cost Management Team supporting projects across central government. Candidates must have DV Security Clearance or be willing to obtain it.

The role involves working on a Ministry of Defence project, requiring presence on-site in Central London three days per week.

Our team handles diverse projects for public sector organizations, including listed building refurbishments, office fit-outs, and critical infrastructure.

This offer is contingent upon successful completion of a security clearance process, including BPSS and DV clearance. Failure to obtain or maintain clearance may result in withdrawal of the offer or termination of employment.

Typical duties for the Senior Cost Manager include:

• Leading the commercial delivery of projects
• Building relationships with clients and colleagues
• Managing costs aligned with project objectives
• Monitoring and reporting project costs
• Managing cost variances and contract cash flow
• Collaborating with client and contractor teams
• Managing contract changes
• Improving forecast and budget accuracy
• Providing commercial support to stakeholders
• Negotiating final accounts
• Mentoring junior staff

Requirements

• Excellent stakeholder communication skills
• 5+ years of diverse project experience
• Knowledge of NEC contracts and/or JCT
• Expertise in cost and change management
• Skills in valuation, risk management, procurement, and cost planning
• Proficiency in reporting
• Collaborative attitude focused on project success
• People and project management skills
• Ability to drive project efficiencies
• Strong understanding of construction industry technical matters

Qualifications

• Must have DV Security Clearance or willingness to obtain it
• Proven track record in delivering high-quality cost management/quantity surveying services
• Degree or HNC qualification
• Professional qualification (e.g., MRICS) preferred
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
