MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

• To perform the role of the Commission Manager, taking responsibility for end-to-end service delivery
• To ensure that client objectives are met through the delivery of an effective cost management service

SCOPE
Senior Cost Managers handle commissions of varying sizes, typically within the £10m to £50m range.

Key Accountabilities

• Coaching junior staff and allocating roles and responsibilities
• Advising clients on feasibility studies and procurement options
• Managing estimating and cost planning stages
• Tendering and procuring, including managing pre-qualification
• Conducting the role of contract administrator
• Producing monthly post contract cost reports
• Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
• Working collaboratively with the project management team

REPORTING
A Senior Cost Manager is likely to report to an Associate Director, Project Director or Director.

A Senior Cost Manager will be assessed by the extent to which:

• Commissions are managed to the right quality standards
• Good relationships are developed with clients
• Opportunities are identified to develop new business
