Job summary

Kenton Black Limited is seeking a Senior Cost Manager for its Central PMO in London. The role sits in a Hybrid setup with three days in the London office and focuses on cost governance, forecasting and reporting on a major infrastructure programme.

You will work with the Cost Lead and Project Controls to deliver robust controls, provide strategic insight to senior stakeholders and support informed decisions across the programme.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Senior Cost Manager, Cost Lead or Project Controls Manager on major infrastructure or capital projects.
• Strong knowledge of cost control, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with project controls, programme governance and earned value management.

Responsibilities

• Supporting and improving the programme's Cost Management Framework.
• Providing governance and assurance across cost reporting and forecasting.
• Reviewing project performance, forecasts and earned value data.
• Producing high-quality reports and management information.
• Working closely with Planning, Risk and Change teams to deliver integrated project controls.
• Identifying trends, challenging performance and driving continuous improvement.
• Supporting the development of digital reporting tools and mentoring junior team members.

Senior Cost Manager – Central PMO
London (Hybrid – 3 Days in Office) | £80,000–£100,000 + Excellent Package

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the UK's largest and most complex infrastructure programmes. Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager to join their Central PMO Project Controls team, playing a key role in driving cost governance, forecasting and reporting across a multi-billion-pound project.

Working alongside the Cost Lead and wider Project Controls team, you'll help deliver robust cost management processes, provide strategic insight to senior stakeholders and support informed decision-making across the programme.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting and improving the programme's Cost Management Framework.
• Providing governance and assurance across cost reporting and forecasting.
• Reviewing project performance, forecasts and earned value data.
• Producing high-quality reports and management information.
• Working closely with Planning, Risk and Change teams to deliver integrated project controls.
• Identifying trends, challenging performance and driving continuous improvement.
• Supporting the development of digital reporting tools and mentoring junior team members.

About You

You’ll have experience as a Senior Cost Manager, Cost Lead or Project Controls Manager on major infrastructure or capital projects, with strong knowledge of:

• Cost control, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Project controls and programme governance.
• Stakeholder management and presenting to senior leadership.
• Earned Value Management and NEC contracts (desirable).
• Power BI or similar reporting tools (advantageous).

A degree in a relevant discipline is preferred, along with experience in sectors such as infrastructure, nuclear, rail, energy or defence.
