Job summary

We Do Group is partnering with a fast-growing international business in the Offshore Wind & Renewable Energy sector to recruit a Senior Cost Engineer in Chester. The role blends office and home working (4 days in office / 1 day at home) with a permanent contract and a base salary of £65,000–£75,000 plus bonus and benefits.

You will build and improve project-level cost reporting, work with Project Managers and commercial teams, and help shape cost controls and reporting as the business grows,

Qualifications

• Strong Cost Engineering / Project Controls experience.
• Experience in a project-based business.
• Renewable Energy / Offshore Wind exposure preferred.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
• Experience with cost codes, commitments and forecast-to-completion.
• International or multi-currency project experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Build and develop project-level cost reporting across the business.
• Budget vs actuals and forecast-to-completion reporting.
• Monitor project costs, commitments and commercial performance.
• Track project variances and identify risks early.
• Provide meaningful commentary and insight around project performance.
• Support PO controls and subcontractor cost tracking.
• Assist project close-out analysis, including estimate vs actual.
