Job summary

UK Fusion Energy Ltd (UKFE) is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage cost & commercial aspects of complex construction projects within IPTs. You will forecast costs, review budgets, and support procurement strategies in line with NEC-based contracts.

Based at West Burton, Nottinghamshire with on-site presence 3 days a week. You will lead commercial risk management and drive value through robust change control, final accounts, and strong stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in quantity surveying or cost management on construction, infrastructure projects or similar.
• Proven ability to administer high‑value, high‑risk contracts across the project lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of standard forms of contract (e.g. NEC).
• Demonstrable expertise in cost forecasting, valuation, change control, and final accounts.

Responsibilities

• Lead the cost management of major construction and infrastructure contracts, ensuring forecasting, budgetary control and cost assurance.
• Prepare, review and maintain cost plans, cost breakdown structures, target costs and pain/gain mechanisms.
• Agree final accounts and support contract close-out.
• Lead measurement and valuation of works, including interim applications and variations.
• Ensure change is valued, negotiated, and recorded; challenge contractor submissions for value for money.
