Job summary

Irwin Mitchell LLP is seeking an experienced Legal Director to lead our National Corporate team in delivering high-quality transactional work for a diverse client base, including private companies, PE and investors. You will oversee significant M&A, private equity, and strategic ventures, while mentoring junior lawyers and shaping growth strategy.

You will collaborate with cross-functional partners across Banking & Finance, Tax, Employment, Real Estate and Regulatory to deliver integrated

Qualifications

• Significant post-qualification experience within a corporate practice.
• Strong M&A and broader corporate transactional expertise.
• Experience leading transactions and supervising junior lawyers.
• Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
• Commercial, pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset.
• Interest in business development and growing national practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead significant corporate transactions from instruction through to completion.
• Advise on mergers, acquisitions, private equity and related corporate work.
• Represent diverse client base including private companies and investors.
• Support partners on strategic matters and deliver transaction work.
• Collaborate with Banking & Finance, Tax, Employment, Real Estate, Regulatory teams.
• Mentor junior lawyers and help build National Corporate team.
• Contribute to business development, thought leadership and networking.
