Job summary

Irwin Mitchell LLP in the UK is seeking an experienced Legal Director to drive growth in the National Corporate practice with high‑quality transactional work and meaningful client responsibility. You will help shape a growing team and lead transactions end-to-end.

As a senior member, you’ll advise on a broad range of corporate work, including M&A, private equity and joint ventures, and collaborate with colleagues across departments while mentoring junior lawyers and developing client

Qualifications

• Significant post-qualification experience in corporate practice.
• Strong M&A and broader corporate transactional experience.
• Experience leading transactions and supervising junior lawyers.
• Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
• Commercial awareness with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach.
• Interest in business development and growth of the practice.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage significant corporate transactions from instruction to completion.
• Advise on M&A, private equity, venture capital, MBOs, restructurings and joint ventures.
• Represent private companies, entrepreneurs, management teams and PE-backed businesses.
• Support partners on strategic matters and day-to-day transaction delivery.
• Collaborate with Banking & Finance, Tax, Employment, Real Estate, Commercial and Regulatory teams.
• Mentor junior lawyers and help build a strong national corporate team.
• Contribute to business development and networking in corporate and private equity.
