Job summary

Hexcel is seeking a Core Manufacturing Manager for its Duxford, UK site to lead a 50+ person manufacturing team and drive safe, efficient production.

You will develop annual production plans, ensure quality and on-time delivery, and lead continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and problem-solving methods. Collaboration across functions and transfers of new processes will be key to success.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Engineering or Materials Science.
• Experience managing a manufacturing team at supervisory/management level.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong planning and leadership skills.
• Experience with Lean Six Sigma, PFMEA, Kaizen is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain a safe manufacturing environment, ensuring health, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Manage production operations to deliver quality, cost, delivery, and performance targets.
• Develop and implement annual production plans aligned to business objectives.
• Lead, develop, and performance-manage a team of 50+ employees including supervisors and technical staff.
• Ensure products meet customer requirements, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, root cause analysis and other tools.
• Manage manufacturing assets, inventory, and resources to maximise efficiency and control costs.
• Support introduction of new products, processes, and technology transfers into manufacturing.
• Lead quality investigations, resolve non-conformances, promote right-first-time culture.
• Collaborate with planning, maintenance, engineering, R&D and other stakeholders to improve plant performance.
