Job summary

Thorn Baker Construction is looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee three live housing developments in the West Midlands region. You will lead contract negotiations, manage budgets and ensure compliance with health and safety standards across sites.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in contract management within the house building sector.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement procedures and commercial management.
• Experience working on projects across the West Midlands or similar regional markets.
• Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to engage and influence project teams and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all contractual aspects of multiple live housing developments, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Lead contract negotiations, variations and claims with subcontractors, suppliers and clients to safeguard company interests.
• Monitor project budgets, costs and cash flow forecasts, identifying and mitigating financial risks effectively.
• Collaborate closely with project teams, site managers and commercial departments to ensure timely delivery and resolve contractual issues promptly.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety standards, promoting a culture of safety across all sites.
• Prepare and present regular reports on contract performance, risks and opportunities to senior management.
• Maintain thorough records of contracts, correspondence and documentation to support audit and compliance requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within contract management processes to enhance efficiency and project outcomes.
