Job summary

Ensigna Construction is seeking a Contracts Manager to lead the delivery of public and commercial construction projects ranging from £1m to £8m. This senior role combines site and office-based work across London and the South East, focusing on quality, safety, and compliance.

You will oversee projects from pre-construction through to completion, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in managing public sector construction projects from inception to completion.
• Experience managing contracts within the construction industry.
• Knowledge of public sector frameworks, regulations and stakeholder expectations.
• Experience leading across pre-construction and delivery phases.
• Budget, programme and cross-functional team management experience.
• Strong communication, negotiation and leadership abilities.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage the successful delivery of multiple live projects across education, healthcare, civic, and commercial sectors.
• Support pre-construction activities including tender input, methodology development, and value engineering.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
• Oversee programme management, health and safety, quality assurance, and commercial performance.
• Work closely with site teams to manage risk, resolve issues, and drive operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, public procurement standards, and construction regulations.

Education

HNC in Construction or equivalent
