Job summary

Right Contract Services in Essex seeks an experienced Contracts Manager to lead groundworks and civil engineering projects. You will oversee site teams, subcontractors, and the commercial delivery to meet safety, quality, and program targets.

The role requires a strong background in construction management, robust contractual knowledge, and a track record of managing multiple projects from inception to completion in a safe, within-budget manner.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' experience in construction, with strong groundworks and civils knowledge.
• Proven experience managing construction projects and site teams.
• Strong commercial awareness and contract management skills.
• CSCS/CCD0 Black card, SMSTS and First Aid at Work.
• Relevant construction qualification (BTEC/HNC/HND/Degree).

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from pre-construction through to completion.
• Oversee site teams, subcontractors and project performance.
• Monitor project budgets, costs, programmes and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Manage procurement, resources and subcontractor packages.
• Price variations and monitor commercial performance.
• Build and maintain strong client and subcontractor relationships.
• Conduct regular site visits and progress reviews.
