About the role

Balfour Beatty has a fabulous opportunity for a Senior Contracts Engineer to join our amazing Ground Engineering.

Location: Port Talbot, Wales

Balfour Beatty’s Ground Engineering business is positioned as the UK’s leading specialist geotechnical contractor, delivering innovative piling and ground improvement solutions across all sectors, focusing on providing solid foundations for buildings of any height, from city skyscrapers to house foundations.

As the Senior Contracts Engineer, you will manage Pre-Cast Driven and Specialist Piling schemes of various sizes. You will be responsible for the efficient running of contracts on site, including contract performance, safety, monitoring/reporting progress, client liaison, and supervision of staff, ensuring excellence in safety, quality, sustainability, and efficiency in line with the Balfour Beatty Business Management System.

What you'll be doing

• Lead the delivery of Pre-Cast Driven and Specialist Piling schemes.
• Manage site operations, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Ensure works are constructed according to contract, design information, drawings, specifications, and Project Management Plan.
• Prepare and review method statements, project plans, and site documentation.
• Monitor progress, drive performance, and maintain strong client relationships.
• Champion health & safety and support continuous improvement.

Who we're looking for

You will have:

• A Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience in piling and large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical knowledge and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication, planning, and cost management abilities.
