Job summary

NRL is seeking a Senior Contract Surveyor to lead commercial management on a major construction scheme, ensuring robust cost control and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle. This role is ideal for an experienced professional with strong negotiation skills and a proven ability to manage complex packages effectively.

Based in Luton, the position requires extensive NEC/JCT contract knowledge, a track record on large-scale projects, and the ability to mentor junior surveyors

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Contract Surveyor, preferably in a senior capacity.
• Proven track record in managing financial and contractual aspects of large-scale projects.
• Working knowledge of NEC and JCT contract forms.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on risk management.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of commercial and contractual management across multiple work packages.
• Prepare and negotiate subcontract agreements, variations, and claims.
• Produce detailed cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Monitor and control project costs against budget, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
• Oversee valuations, progress payments, and final account settlements.
• Ensure strict compliance with contractual terms and relevant legislation.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior surveyors within the commercial team.
