Job summary

First Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a busy project team on a long-term contract. The role supports the commercial function during pre-construction and delivery phases, managing major subcontract packages and NEC3 Option A contracts.

Qualifications

• Senior Quantity Surveyor with construction or civil engineering experience.
• Strong NEC3 Option A contract knowledge.
• Experience in subcontract administration and final accounts.
• Experience on major infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Commercial management of major subcontract packages.
• Administration of subcontract accounts under NEC3 Option A contracts.
• Management of subcontract payments, variations, compensation events and change control.

This role has been created to support the commercial function during a period of increased workload and will provide critical support through the pre-construction and delivery phases of the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Commercial management of major subcontract packages.
• Administration of subcontract accounts under NEC3 Option A contracts.
• Management of subcontract payments, variations, compensation events and change control.
• Cost forecasting, budgeting and reporting.
• Preparation of cost/value reconciliations and commercial reports.
• Procurement and commercial management of subcontractors.
• Negotiation and agreement of subcontractor final accounts.
• Identification and management of commercial risks and opportunities.
• Maintaining accurate commercial records and contractual documentation.
• Supporting project teams to ensure successful commercial delivery.
• Proven experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction, civil engineering, infrastructure or utilities environments.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC3 Option A contracts.
• Experience in subcontract administration, change management and final account settlement.
• Excellent commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong reporting, forecasting and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience managing large groundworks, steelwork or building package contracts
• Background working on major infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
• Working knowledge of CEAR software for subcontract administration.
• Experience working within multi-disciplinary project teams.
