Job summary

Howells Solutions Limited is seeking an experienced Contract Manager to oversee passive fire protection contracts across London and surrounding areas. You will ensure safe, on-schedule, and commercially successful project delivery, including fire stopping, steel protection, intumescent coatings and fire door works.

You will manage client relationships, coordinate with Tier 1 contractors and lead site teams to maximise profitability while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Contract Manager / Senior Contract Manager in passive fire protection.
• Strong knowledge of fire stopping and passive fire protection systems.
• Proven experience with structural steel protection.
• Experience with intumescent paint/coatings and fire door installations.
• Experience managing multiple projects and site teams.
• Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills.
• Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
• Experience dealing with Tier 1 contractors and/or major construction clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple passive fire protection contracts from commencement to completion.
• Oversee project delivery, programme, commercial performance and client relationships.
• Lead site teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
• Supervise fire stopping, structural steel protection, intumescent coatings and fire door installations.
• Liaise with Tier 1 contractors, main contractors, clients and stakeholders.
• Monitor programmes to meet milestones and deadlines.
• Handle variations, valuations, and payments; safeguard profitability.
• Review costs and identify profitability opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards.
• Maintain quality, health and safety standards across projects.
• Attend site and client meetings as required.
• Manage project documentation, reporting and handover processes.
• Resolve operational issues quickly and effectively.
• Build strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
