Job Summary
Are you a skilled manager looking for your next challenge in the Facilities Management sector? We’re recruiting a Senior Contracts Manager to oversee a key, multi-site Hard FM contract across a portfolio of educational buildings in Portsmouth.
This high-profile role is ideal for an experienced FM professional who thrives on delivering exceptional service, ensuring compliance, and building strong client relationships in a dynamic and sensitive environment.
You’ll take ownership of Hard FM operations, liaising with a team of in-house engineers and specialist subcontractors, to maintain safe, efficient, and compliant learning environments for students and staff alike.
• Lead the delivery of Hard FM services (including M&E, compliance, and limited fabric
maintenance) across multiple educational sites.
• Act as the principal client contact, managing relationships and ensuring all KPIs and SLAs are
consistently met.
• Provide tactical leadership to engineers, supervisors, and support staff.
• Ensure all statutory and regulatory compliance are met, particularly around safeguarding,
health & safety, and building standards in educational settings.
• Oversee planned and reactive maintenance, asset management, and minor works.
• Work with the contract Quantity Surveyor, to manage contract budgets, cost controls, and
commercial performance in line with company targets.• Liaise with the Technical Service, Specialist Service and Project Teams to co-ordinate the
provision of detailed quotations, defining exclusions and limitations.
• Coordinate day-to-day delivery of planned maintenance, emergency replacements, repairs,
and critical upgrades.
• Attend contract meetings and provide regular contract performance reporting to clients and
senior leadership.
• Strong track record in managing Hard FM contracts, ideally in an education or
public sector setting.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively, with significant experience in managing
client relationships and ensuring stakeholder alignment.
• Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and building fabric systems.
• Confident managing contractual, safeguarding and compliance obligations within
schools, colleges, or similar environments.
• Financially and commercially astute with experience managing budgets and
contract KPIs.
• Familiar with CAFM systems and asset lifecycle planning.
• Proficient IT with an in-depth knowledge of all Microsoft packages.
• Health & Safety qualifications (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH) highly desirable.
• Full UK driving license and ability to travel between local sites.
