Job summary

Procter Street is seeking an experienced Contract Manager to oversee the commercial and contractual management of major earthworks and infrastructure projects in the North-West. The role requires strong civil engineering background and proven contract administration experience from award through to final accounts.

Responsibilities include variations, valuations, payment applications, notices, and risk management while working with project teams to ensure contractual compliance and successful

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Contract Manager or similar in civil engineering/infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of earthworks, highways, utilities or major infrastructure projects.
• Good understanding of NEC/JCT contracts and commercial procedures.
• Proven ability to identify contractual risks and maximise opportunities.
• Experience managing subcontractors and client-side relationships.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for contractual and commercial management of assigned earthworks and infrastructure projects.
• Lead contract administration from pre-start to final account and completion.
• Manage variations, valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Review and interpret NEC/JCT or other contracts and ensure compliance.
• Identify risks and opportunities, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Prepare contractual notices and extensions of time with supporting information.
• Collaborate with project teams to maintain commercial control and reporting.
• Monitor budgets, programmes and contractual requirements.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier contracts and negotiations.
• Maintain relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholders.
• Provide contractual guidance and dispute avoidance support.
