The Role

My client is looking for an experienced Senior Contracts Manager to join our construction team.

This is a hands-on project management role for an experienced construction professional who can take ownership of multiple projects from initial scope and quotation through to successful completion and handover.

The successful candidate will have strong construction knowledge, excellent organisational and client management skills and, importantly, a strong working knowledge of Schedules of Rates (SOR).

You will be responsible for ensuring projects are properly planned, commercially controlled and delivered safely, on time and to the high standards expected by Vidette and our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple construction, refurbishment and maintenance projects from start to completion.
  • Review scopes of work, drawings, specifications and client requirements.
  • Prepare and review quotations using Schedules of Rates (SOR) and client-specific pricing structures.
  • Develop and manage project programmes, labour requirements and subcontractor resources.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, materials and site activities.
  • Monitor project budgets, costs and commercial performance.
  • Identify, price and manage variations and additional works.
  • Review subcontractor quotations and ensure costs remain commercially competitive.
  • Attend site visits, progress meetings and client meetings.
  • Provide clients with clear and professional project updates.
  • Proactively manage programme delays, site issues and changes in scope.
  • Ensure works are delivered safely and in accordance with relevant health & safety requirements.
  • Monitor workmanship and quality throughout project delivery.
  • Manage snagging, completion and handover.
  • Support valuations and final account processes.
  • Work closely with Vidette's operational and administrative teams to ensure projects run smoothly.
About You

We are looking for an experienced construction professional who is organised, commercially aware and confident taking ownership of projects.

You should be equally comfortable discussing a project with a client, reviewing costs and SOR items, managing subcontractors or visiting site to resolve a delivery issue.

Essential Experience & Skills
  • Strong experience in construction Project Management, Contracts Management or a similar role.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Schedules of Rates (SOR).
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good commercial awareness and understanding of construction costs.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing quotations, variations and additional works.
  • Strong subcontractor and supplier management experience.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and scopes of work.
  • Good understanding of labour and material requirements.
  • Strong programme management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent problem‑solving ability.
  • Professional and confident client‑facing communication.
  • Ability to take ownership and see projects through from start to finish.
  • Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
  • Experience within refurbishment, fit‑out, planned and maintenance works.
  • Experience working within occupied or live commercial environments.
  • SMSTS.
  • CSCS.
  • First Aid.
  • Relevant construction or project management qualification.
The Person

This role will suit someone who enjoys managing projects rather than simply overseeing them.

You will be proactive, commercially minded and comfortable making decisions, with the ability to manage several projects and priorities at the same time.

You'll understand the importance of maintaining programme and margin, but equally the importance of building strong client relationships and delivering a professional service.

We're looking for someone who will take genuine ownership of their projects and represent Vidette UK Ltd professionally with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
