Harvey Jacob Ltd seeks a Contracts Manager to join our Hertfordshire team. You will oversee delivery of refurbishment schemes, manage multiple live projects up to GBP5M, mentor Site Managers, and maintain safety and quality across sites.

The role is office-based with weekly project visits to ensure on-time performance and client satisfaction. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will also handle programme planning and, where appropriate, commercial tasks like valuations and variations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Contracts Manager with a Main Contractor.
• Background in commercial/industrial refurbishment is essential.
• Proficient in MS Project or Asta Powerproject.
• Health and safety knowledge with CDM regulations.
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certifications.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsabilités

• Take handover of schemes from Estimating and plan delivery.
• Manage up to three live projects concurrently valued to GBP5M.
• Lead, support and develop Site Managers across projects.
• Prepare and update programmes using MS Project or Asta Powerproject.
• Ensure quality, health and safety across all sites.
• Act as main contact for clients and build strong relationships.
• Oversee commercial aspects where appropriate (cost control, valuations, variations).
• Report progress, risks and performance to Operations Manager.

Contracts Manager (Permanent)

Our client is a well-established Main Contractor specialising in the refurbishment of commercial and industrial buildings, delivering projects up to GBP5M. With a strong reputation for quality and repeat business, they are looking to add an experienced Contracts Manager to their Hertfordshire-based team.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, although office-based, you'll visit each of your projects weekly to support your Site Managers and keep delivery on track.

Key Responsibilities

• Take handover of awarded schemes from Estimating and plan project delivery
• Manage up to three live projects concurrently, valued up to GBP5M
• Lead, support and develop Site Managers across your projects
• Prepare, manage and update programmes using MS Project or Asta Powerproject
• Take ownership of quality, health and safety standards across all sites
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, building strong working relationships
• Ideally you will oversee the commercial side of your projects where appropriate, including cost control, valuations and variations (BUT NOT ESSENTIAL)
• Report on project progress, risks and performance to the Operations Manager

About You

• Proven experience as a Contracts Manager (or a Project Manager ready to step up) with a Main Contractor
• A background in commercial and/or industrial refurbishment projects is essential
• Able to programme confidently using MS Project or Asta Powerproject
• Commercial management experience is desirable but not essential
• Good knowledge of health and safety legislation and CDM regulations
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certifications
• A full UK driving licence
