Fortus Recruitment Group Limited is seeking a highly organised Small Works Contracts Manager to join our team in Verwood, Dorset. You will own projects from initial instruction through to final completion, ensuring safety, on-time delivery and quality, while working with estimating, commercial and operations teams.

You will build strong relationships with clients, tenants and trades to ensure smooth delivery and successful outcomes across multiple projects.

Responsabilidades

• Manage small works projects from instruction to completion, ensuring programme, quality and commercial objectives are met.
• Collaborate with Estimating, Commercial and operations teams for seamless handover from quotation to delivery.
• Maintain communication with client representatives with progress updates.
• Coordinate access with tenants and residents to minimise disruption.
• Plan and coordinate trades and subcontractors to deliver on programme.
• Identify and manage subcontractors to support project delivery.
• Procure materials and coordinate resources for timely delivery.
• Monitor costs with Commercial Team to maximise profitability.
• Track progress and ensure works meet required standards.
• Take ownership of outstanding works to conclude projects successfully.

Small Works Contracts Manager

Location: Verwood, Dorset, BH31 6AX
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30, with a 30-minute break
Annual Leave: 21 days plus bank holidays
Company Vehicle: Company car and fuel card provided
Start Date: To be confirmed

About the Role

We are looking for an organised, proactive and commercially minded Small Works Contracts Manager to join our Small Works Department.

In this role, you will take ownership of projects and contracts from initial instruction through to final completion, ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme, to the required quality standards and within agreed commercial parameters.

Working closely with our Estimating, Commercial and operational teams, you will play a key role in ensuring a smooth transition from quotation and contract award through to successful project delivery. You will also build strong working relationships with clients, tenants, residents, directly employed trades and subcontractors to ensure projects run smoothly from start to finish.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys managing multiple projects, solving problems and taking responsibility for delivering successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Project and Contract Management: Manage small works projects from initial instruction through to completion, ensuring programme, quality and commercial objectives are consistently achieved.
• Estimating and Handover: Work closely with the Estimating Team and colleagues to ensure a seamless transition from quotation and contract award into operational delivery.
• Client Relationship Management: Maintain regular communication with client representatives, providing clear updates on progress, programme, potential issues and completion.
• Tenant and Resident Liaison: Coordinate access arrangements and work schedules with tenants and residents, ensuring disruption is minimised wherever possible.
• Resource Planning: Schedule and coordinate directly employed trades and subcontractors to ensure resources are deployed effectively and projects remain on programme.
• Subcontractor Management: Identify, engage and manage subcontractors as required to support project delivery and meet contractual commitments.
• Materials Procurement: Procure materials and coordinate the resources and requirements needed to deliver works efficiently and on time.
• Commercial Management: Work closely with the Commercial Team to monitor costs, identify efficiencies, manage expenditure and maximise project profitability.
• Programme and Quality Control: Monitor progress, address issues proactively and ensure completed works meet the required standards.
• Project Completion: Take ownership of outstanding works, resolve issues and ensure projects are brought to a successful and timely conclusion.
