The role requires a qualified journalist with broadcast experience and strong line-management capabilities to lead editorial decisions under tight deadlines.

You will have exceptional TV and digital skills to engage audiences online and on air, and you will play a vital part in maintaining ITV News Central's reputation for supportive teamwork

Qualifications

• Fully qualified NCTJ, BJTC or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of media law & compliance and editorial judgement.
• Proven track record of producing, sourcing or planning content to deadline.
• Experience coaching, managing and motivating others.
• Experience delivering innovation across media platforms.
• A reputation for creative journalism and sound editorial judgement.
• Commitment to DE&I in news reporting.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong, decisive decision-making under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Programme producing oversight with the Senior Content Editor.
• News editing and coordinating coverage of breaking stories.
• Online editing and curating ITV’s online news service ITVX and website.
• Planning ahead across all platforms and generating original news ideas.
